INVESTMENT CASTING
Very complex castings and high precision, smooth surface quality can be gained with this method. These features eleminates need of machinery most of the time.
Wax figures are assemblied on a cluster and covered with ceramic. Then wax is melted in ovens to be removed. Preheating in the oven is necessary before casting.
Features:
- Surface quality and dimensional accuracy is quite high in the casting parts.
- Thin, light and complex casting parts could be produced in this method.
- Especially prefferred in steel casting part production.
- Production could be done with the final dimension and surface quality, without needing any additional machining.
